If you already know what you're doing, get the KML file: here.
To get started:
- Download Google Earth.
- Install and run Google Earth; learn your way around. Don't forget that you don't always have to look straight down when in Google Earth; looking slant-wise at the terrain is one of the most impressive capabilities.
- Right click on this link and download the KML file to your computer.
- Double click the downloaded KML file to import the data to Google Earth.
- You should see a new directory of placemarks called "strips". This is the Landing Directory data.
- Click on the placemark for a landing spot to expose a hyperlink. If you click on it, it will take you to the web page for that spot which may contain additional information and pictures.
- Follow this link to add a strip of your own. Remember that the most important thing is the latitude/longitude information. They need to be entered in decimal degrees (WGS84), not degrees/minutes/seconds!
- You can upload pictures or additional comments for any landing spot on the associated page.
